Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible printer. DO NOT BUY!! Comment: This printer has tested my patience. Only thing that works well is the fax. Photo quality is terrible, trust me I tried all ways and no way that I could figure out getting a decent quality picture. Another few important things you HAVE to know before you buy this goofy printer :
1. It 'prepares' the printer when you startup for a long time.
2. I have wifi connection. It is not as fast and crisp as you would expect.
3. Worst problem : When one of your catridges gets empty, the printer will NOT work until you replace it. No matter you just want to print or make a copy in just black. This is the problem that made me snap and write this review.
DO NOT BUY C7 series HP PRINTER. It just not worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Unusable due to POOR software. Comment: The hardware it great. The concept is great. The software is a deal breaker; it's horrible. I'm running Vista 64, and have had nothing but trouble. I've had to reinstall the software too many times to count. It's just full of bugs. Plus, it tells you every five minutes that a cartridge is low. I would just change them to have it stop annoying me, but the ink is so expensive, you want to get out every last drop. I've had HP products before, but this all-in-one is not good at all.
Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to set up and easy to use. Comment: I have just installed the printer and it was very easy to read instructions and easy to follow installation disk. This printer has lots of functionality. I have a Vista machine and a Mac G5
Main pro points - 1. Wireless 2. Photo printing w/memory card reader 3. Sheet feeder
Main con points - 1. holds about 50 sheets of paper 2. cost per photo printing can be expensive (but how many are you really going to do?)
If you don't need wireless or photo printing I'm sure there are better options for you but it's nice having both.
Customer Rating: Summary: HP C7280 PHOTOSMART ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER Comment: This is an excellent choice for an easy to use home printer. Easy to set up and easy to learn how to use.
Customer Rating: Summary: Photosmart C7280: Expensive Piece of Garbage...do not buy Comment: Unit worked great as a fax machine...for the first 2 days then stopped auto answering the line. It could see the call, the caller ID and could receive the fax if you told it to manually by pressing the Start Fax button, but with the unit set to autoanswer on 2 rings it simply would not pick up. Customer service (via email) was a joke...they could not even get the model number right using their support form that clearly sets the model number.
Then, in Quickbooks Pro 2008 when printing checks the unit tries to use the photo paper tray regardless of how you set the print job up in HP's print properties dialog.
Bottom line folks...buy anything else but the all-in-one peice of bovine .....
