That isn't very easy when the pin is competing with the trees around it for your rangefinder's attention. Have verified the distances shown using friends GPS units and found that it is most accurate. All three failed because of inability to lock onto the pin. This finder locks on immediately and gives laser precision yardages to the pin. Fantastic. It's never wrong. It is great for the average golfer that knows how far they hit their individual clubs because this product will give you the confidence to pull it and hit it knowing you have chosen the right club. Now, if someone would invent a product that would tell me when I am aiming at the wrong target with my clubs I would be a much better golfer. Seriously, Bushnell has created a very good product. Customer Rating: Summary: Great product Comment: I looked at several different options for distance finders and ultimately decided on this model for two reasons 1) it is tournament legal for USGA events and 2) it is the most accurate of the golf rangefinder products on the market. If you are considering the GPS systems, remember that they are often off by 3-4 yards and don't give you an exact distance to the pin. I've stood by my friends with the GPS systems and ultimately I am always more accurate. In addition, you can't use the GPS systems in USGA events.
